I can not remember what your source footage is.
If it is SD or HDV you should NOT have any problems with CS4, at least I
never had,
and that with a vintage computer, so yours should handle it easily.
If your footage is AVCHD, CS5 will definitely help.
With my limited computer knowledge I keep my machines as simple as
possible and
I run the absolute minimum number of programs and that seems to work for me.
Again, it would help if you would exactly explain what you did.
Just one question, how do you update your programs if you never connect
to the
internet. I think it is very important to have the latest versions for
Windows and your
other programs. Make sure you have the latest version of Premiere which
is 4.2.1
