Did you mean Premiere 6.5? I know that some previous 32-bit versions of
Premiere were susceptible to crashes when it ran out of memory; perhaps that
is what you are running into. Regarding WMV, I've haven't tried one but I
remember Bill Hunt on the Adobe forum saying that it isn't considered an
editable compression but rather an output media format for end-users. I
can't play with one right now but I'll try one later to see what happens in
Premiere CS5.

Subject: [AP] issues with Premiere 6

Hello ~

I have started up with premiere again after a very long absence. 2 issues
I'm having with file handling are 1) I can import 4 hour files into the
timeline, but once I try to play it or cut it, premiere crashes and 2) AVI
imports OK, but I cannot import certain file types such as WMV. Any
suggestions? Do later versions of Premiere recognize more file types such as
WMV?

thanks
