Hi Robert,

The GH2 with 14-42mm kitlens costs maybe $800 at amazon.com or on 
eBay. With the crop funtion you'll get 80mm with that, which is still 
not enough for wildlife. But you can buy a second hand 300 to 400mm 
zoom (with Nikon or Canon mount) on eBay, and a lens adapter ($25) 
and then with the GH2 crop funtion you'll have 600 to 800mm which is 
awesome for wildlife. If you do some proper searching you'll be set 
for $1000 to $1250 probably. And you won't get a camcorder with 
comparable focal lenght and f number and acceptable ISO1600 for that; 
that's another advantage of the GH2... it's very light sensitive.
