To be sure that your settings are perfect. Take a clip and drag it onto the new 
sequence icon. This will create a sequence with the exact settings of the clip. 
If you still get a render bar that means that your system will still need to 
render the clips in order to play them back properly. AVCHD is a codec that 
requires a lot of processing. If you transcode it into another codec like 
prores you will speed up your work; however, you will loose the time and HD 
space for the transcoding. Gerry in Calgary.
