Did you read the "reviews"?  Mostly they seem to be comments from people that 
didn't bother to read the agreement they agreed to and are pretty clueless to 
how things work.  That being said, it could 
have been that two years ago when those cases happened, the pertinent print on 
the agreement page was not bold and easy to grasp like it is now.   Free trial 
subscriptions nowadays are very often tied 
to Opt Out policies. For that reason (and my overloaded memory) I hardly ever 
touch them.
Videoblocks/Footage Firm are on the level and can be a great deal if they have 
what you can use. For $89/6 months anyone could download everything off the 
website if they took the time.  I just think 
there's a lot of better AE templates and footage out there from other 
suppliers, and they've become amazingly affordable if you only buy exactly what 
you want and use. On the other hand, I've seen a 
few of the same "free" Videoblocks templates on other sites for $40 each.

And one more thing -- their 7 day trial is pretty much always available.
