Backing up an HACMP Cluster

On an HACMP 2 Node Cluster, We have a situation where the automated process of backing 
up the ACTIVE Node is not completing.  The process is continuing to be "MISSED."  As a 
newbie to ADSM, I am in search of insights on what factors I need to check to asure 
the successful completion of this process.  Thank you all for any assistance.
