Subject: Solaris 4.1 ADSM Server with Solaris 3.6 afs client (backup solution
maybe) ??
Hi,
just done more digging to findout if the following is possible
http://www.transarc.com/Library/documentation/afs/3.6/unix/en_US/HTML/RelNotes/aurns004.htm#HDRTSM
seems to indicate below should work - has anyone done this ??
see quote below
>Supported Tape Coordinator machine types
>To communicate with a TSM server, the Tape Coordinator must run on a
>machine that uses one of the following operating systems: AIX 4.3 or
>higher, Solaris 2.6, Solaris 7.
sun solaris 2.6 server using 4.1 TSM(ADSM) backup server software running
Transarc AFS 3.6 client software backing up Solaris AFS servers running
AFS 3.4
any comments - does this mean AIX not needed for ADSM AFS backups anymore
?? - has anyone setup solaris adsm afs backup system as described above ??
