It works - that's all I want to say about. We use it as a vehicle to
backup/restore
mailboxes from MS Exchange Server, because *sm is not able to do that in an
acceptable manner. Nobody wants to restore a whole Exchange Server to get a
tiny mail back, right ? So why not also backup the whole Database with
Veritas
an keep off from TDP ? The answer: it is running too long and ADSM/VM isn't
the tool anymore. Our Exchange gurus ordered a DLT Changer for the server
box
and did their work for themselves. Bad story for keeping *SM on the host
side.
Freundliche Gruesse - kind regards
Werner Sailer

Hello, we were actually going to use that product because ADSM did not have
an agent for Oracle running on NetWare. Basically ADSM becomes another
backup device for Backup Exec. I had it running on ADSM 3.1.2.41 but it's
not a very good solution. You loose all of the advantages of using ADSM.

Hello!
One of my customers came to me with a different approach (for us) to doing
backups. He wants to use the Veritas Backup Exec product to do backups, and
then use an interface they have to move the backups to ADSM. As I
understand it, they are using an API, and then using ADSM as the backstore,
simulating a (very big) DLT drive.
The early research that I have done is not very enriching. A search of the
TSM web site found nothing. The Veritas Support site discussed the
interface, but only mentioned support for ADSM through V3.1. No Mention of
TSM at all. We are contacting the vendor for more information.
In the meantime, I was wondering if anyone out there has any experience with
the product? Are you using the Backup Exec product with any release of *SM?
What are your experiences?
