We have a user who has found one of his files was damaged. The user had deleted the damaged file from his system before contacting us to restore the file. Since a he did not call us until after he had deleted the file and after we had run a backup on his system, our policy appears to have deleted all entries for the file other than the last one which is the damaged version of the file. Will doing an audit of the tape volume that contains the prior version of the file allow me to recover this file?
