I'm having some doubts as to how Tsm is doing the excludes for AIX.
Some info on the environment:
Client - AIX 4.3 running Tsm 3.7.2.0
Server - OS/390 2.9 running Tsm 3.7.0.0
My include/exclude list ONLY contains stuff to be excluded - so the bottom
to top procedure with a combination of incl/exclude does not pertain here.
My exclude has the following lines:
exclude.fs /db01
exclude.fs /db02
This is for all our db nodes on an S80. The unsupported command in the dsmc
prompt on this client (show inclexcl), shows the filesystems are excluded.
The web client shows the files are excluded - BUT - an incremental backup
will still backup large files in the db01 file system. Seeing that we have
about 2 terabyte of data under these filesystems - and we do not need to
back it up - we are having some serious space constraints on the Tsm server.
We specifically installed the 3.7.2.0 code to address this issue - before we
were running Adsm 3.1.0.8 with the same result.
