We recently had dsmc terminate with exit code 4 while running an incremental
backup of an HP-UX 11.0 client system. The error log contained the following
messages:
10/05/00 02:08:07 Return code 195 unknown
10/05/00 02:08:07 Return code 195 unknown
10/05/00 02:08:07 Unknown system error
Please check the TSM Error Log for any additional information
The scheduler log contained the last two of the above messages. The errno.h
include file does not have any mention of return code 195. Does anybody have
any ideas for getting to the bottom of this? The client code is at level
3.7.0.0. Our server is at level 3.1.2.40 and runs under OS/390. I am currently
unable to contact IBM for help. In the past, IBM has told us to use the OS/390
support organization as our point of contact for all ADSM problems, including
client-side problems. The OS/390 support organization now insists that
problems with Unix clients have to be submitted to the Unix support
organization, and the Unix support organization refuses to talk to me because
I am not on a list of people authorized to call IBM about Unix problems.
