Subject: UNIX TSM EXLUDE
Hello ALL
Does anyone know the answer to why TIVOLI/ADSM would default the Unix File
System environment to not backup the /tmp filesystem. I was reading the
TSM
for Unix Backup Archive Client and found a disturbing default. Since I am
a
neophyte when it comes to Unix maybe someone can inform me on this
decision.
I feel that it should be left up to me to exclude any file system in my
environment.
This is the message on pg 100 on "Using Backup-Archive Clients Version 3.7"
Message appears as follows:
all-local
Backs up all local file systems except LOFS file systems and LOFS
through automounter. This is default.
The /tmp directory is not included.
Can someone inform me why this is default......This is a terrible default.
