FYI- Add another apar to the 'credit' list....argh... Sum: TSM server on aix. TSM server level v3 r7 level 3.8 3494 with 12 3590 drives (which are in use most of the time). * Scenaio: needed to label libv with search=yes and volr=xxxxxx, xxxxyy and overwrite=yes during tape drive activity... This command won't even 'work' if there are no available drives. Did issue command while there was, at the moment, an available drive or two and the command started processing. Between labeling tape '1' and tape '2' all drives became inuse (or unavailable). This brought on TSM library sequence check(s). An aix error for the lmcpd (6D errors)....and failed the command 'mid-stream.' APAR has been 'cut.' FYI Thanks Tim Item IC28459 APAR Identifier ...... Example messages from a 3494 scenario: ANR8749E Library order sequence check on library ADSM3494. ANR1404W Scratch volume mount request denied - mount failed. ANR8301E I/O error on library ADSM3494 (OP=004C6D32, SENSE=00.00.00.6D). LOCAL FIX: Run the CHECKIN, LABEL, and CHECKOUT LIBVOLUME commands at a time where there is no other tape activity. Update the storage pool to UNAVAILABLE to perform these processes.
