Whats the easiest way to migrate an ADSM 3.1 server on a mainframe hooked up
to a STK 9310 (HSC 2.0.1, Library Station 3.0) to an AIX box (4.3.3 and TSM
4.1) which will be hooked up to the same STK 9310 tape library? Client data
is currently on tons of tapes. If we do an export on the client nodes, this
writes the data to a new set of tapes correct? If we do an export on the
server, this also writes the data to a new set of tapes as I understand it.
So is there no way to just transfer the ADSM DB from the old system to the
new without having to read and write an absurd number of tapes? E.g. can we
do a backup DB on the old system as well as the devconfig and volhist files
and �restore� the server on the newly installed RISC box?
Whats the least painful way of doing this?
