Is it necessary to have a storage pool (disk) specifically for HSM? I would think not however I would think the advantage of having a separate one would be that when a file is requested, TSM would be more likely to find it on disk and not have to mount a tape to retrieve it. So perhaps for performance reasons it�d be �nice�.. Since I�ve not seen an environment with HSM in use I�m curious as to what the �best practice� is.. to create one or no and why?
