Hello, thanks a lot for the information, and if you dont mind i will borrow a piece
more of information from you.
Could you tell me witch is teh redbook you mention?
>From witch disk and directory you run your batch command: from c:\adsm\baclient or
>from f:\adsm\baclient
Could you send me the files related to the installation?
I defined five nodes on my OS/390 ADSM Server: One for each node and three others, one
for each resource group
The services are defined as manual as you said, but do you know how I can stop/start
them?
Best Regards
Angel Anton

Asunto: Re: ADSM and MS Cluster

Interestingly enough, I just completed my first config of ADSM for a
cluster. Although the installation is not clearly documented, I found the
Redbook fairly useful. One warning however: the notes for the options
required for the service install aren't as good in the Redbook. I ended up
using the notes from the readme for 3.1.8. for configuring my batch command
file the line reads as follows:
 @echo on
dsmcutil %1 /node:%2 /password:%3 /name:"ADSM Scheduler Service FSCL1"
/autostart:yes /schedlog:"f:\adsm\dsmsched.log"
/errorlog:"f:\adsm\dsmerror.log" /optfile:"F:\adsm\dsm.opt"
I simply copied the entire BAClient dir to the resource group's folder \adsm
then made sure I had the correct opt file with the exclusions and all setup.
I could send you a sample file if you would like to see how I have mine
layed out.
Also, don't forget to bind the service through the Cluster Administrator.
One point I noticed was that the service as I installed it to each owner in
the Cluster was set to Automatic. After adding the service as a Generic
Service in the cluster it became Manual on the active server.

Subject: ADSM and MS Cluster

Hello, does anybody has a Microsoft Nt Cluster configured for backup with
ADSM Client 3.1.0.8.
I tried to configure it in the same way that is explained in the
documentation from the PTF IP21855 and the results are not quite ok.
I configured, on the ADSM Administrator, one node for each cluster node and
another three for the three groups of disks we have.
I also defined the scheduler services, five, and also defined the resources
on the Cluster administrator.
The results are: I can schedule the backup for the processing nodes and it
works but the schedules for the disk nodes don't work
Could anybody help me in finding the problem?
