Hi Walter,

I am not sure if this helps.

We have a client who is using Solaris 7 and Oracle 8.1.5, they installed TDP
2.1. When they installed the required patches 106300 and 106327, the oracle
was broken (I don't know what the error message is), then they installed
other patches 106980-09 106541-09 109104-01 107544-02 and these patches
fixed that problem.

You may ask DBA to set oracle trace so you could know what happened.

Regards,
Phillip Guan

Subject: TDP for Oracle on SUN

TSM TDP'rs,

Experiencing a very strange and annoying problem after configuring the
Oracle
TPD agent on a SUN 7 system. As soon as the TDP's libobk.so is bound to
Oracle
thru make ..... Oracle starts complaining that its control files are
corrupt.
Something to do with the SCN not being what it should be.
We've tried the latest TDP Agent 4.1.10 and even the older 2.1.9c on Oracle
8.1.5 and 8.1.6 nothing seems to alter the situation. Working with the
original
Oracle libobk causes no problems.
It's even stanger when you consider that corruption occurs even before RMAN
is
in anyway use.
Oracle support is looking into it but have no answer as of yet.

Anybody got a clue as to why the control files are getting corrupted ?

regards Walter Ridderhof.
