no shared mem transport in Solaris TSM 4!! :)

Does anybody know if the lack of Shared Mem communication in
TSM 4 for Solaris is intentional?? I'll have to resort to loopback TCP/IP
for now. I wonder if this gives a large performance penalty.
Anybody with a clue??
