Radha,

domdsmc selective and domdsmc incremental will
only back up Domino "databases and templates".
It will not back up transaction logs.

The domdsmc archivelogs command is used to
back up the transaction logs.
TDP for Domino works closely with the Domino Server
on what transaction logs need to be backed up.

If you have "Archival Transaction Logging" turned on,
then you are correct, the domdsmc archivelogs command
will contact the Domino Server and ask which logs
need to be backed up. The Domino Server will
respond with a list of logs that need to be
backed up (after Domino Server 5.04, you will also
get the current active log file, even if it is not full.)
Then, TDP for Domino will back up those logs.

I hope this helps.

Thanks,

Del

Subject: TDP for Domino R5

Does domdsmc incremental or selective backup transaction log files (with
txn extension) if the log files are in a separate volume. I am running
Domino R5 on an NT server. The Domino programs are on D:, the data files
are on E: , and F: is set aside for transaction logging which is not
enabled yet. If I understand right, the domdsmc archivelog will backup
only the log extents that are ready for archiving. What do you do to
backup all the log extents on a daily basis?
