These failures are probably the "controlling" sessions. The backups are
probably working but the sessions which
run them are timing out - check how long they run for and your timeout
option.

Subject: backup schedule event failures with tsm server 4.1.2
i upraded my os/390 server to tsm 4.1.2, i haven't modified the clients
as of yet, most of them are
at 3.7.2. my scheuled events would always indicate "Completed". Now
occassionally the events
are indicated with "Failiure". When i review the dsmerror.log for these
clients it appears that the
backups went ok. the only errors that i see that might have caused these
failures are these
01/10/2001 19:09:49 TcpRead(): recv(): errno = 54
01/10/2001 19:09:49 sessRecvVerb: Error -50 from call to 'readRtn'.
01/10/2001 19:09:49 ANS1809E Session is lost; initializing session
reopen procedure.
01/10/2001 19:09:49 ANS1809E Session is lost; initializing session
reopen procedure.
01/10/2001 19:10:04 ANS1810E TSM session has been reestablished.
these errors appear 3 times...
