We are in the process of upgrading to TSM 4.1 from ADSM 3.1.2 and we have
run into a show stopper. We were dismayed to learn that the Informix TDP module
is only supported for AIX and Solaris. Silly us, since ADSM supported Informix
onbar on HPUX and we were upgrading to TSM we imagined TSM would support HPUX
too.
TSM 4.1 indicates that it supports ADSM clients and so we tried using the
ADSM 3.7 client API to connect to the TSM 4.1 test installation we created and
every thing went swimmingly until we tried to restore and then it became
apparent that the TSM server really had not stored any of the onbar data that
informix thought it had transferred. Has anyone else attempted to run onbar
against TSM 4.1 using a older client API? Is there a TSM 3.7 client for
Informix TDP on HPUX or any other "non-supported" platform? Is anyone aware of
Tivoli's plans to port TDP to HPUX?
