ARPA1.txt

     Thanks Richard,

     - I had let the server to churn for almost more that an hour .

     - I was monitoring , the CPU, DISK activities using 'nmon' and 'sar.'
     No activity ws there.

     - I had checked the dsmserv.dsk file and found it to be OK.

     - No message was recorded in the AIX error log and dsmserv.err file.

     - I had tried with ' dsmserv extend log <logfile> <space in MB> to
extend the recoverey log. In fact this was the solution proposed by
IBM and many others as per postings on ADSM.ORG.

Finally, I had to restore the DB back and it did the trick. It took
around 7 Hrs to restore back 76 GB of Database.

I still don't know the root cause of the problem. But touch wood, it's
     working.

     Thanks and Regards

     Mahesh

Mahesh - I don't have a "solution" answer for you, but I
         would do the following:
- Let the server continue to churn.
- Via AIX commands, see if the server is accumulating CPU time
and if there is disk activity.
- Look at the dsmserv.dsk file and check that all volumes
listed there are okay in AIX.
- Look for errors in the AIX Error Log, and the TSM dsmserv.err file.

If nothing turns up, you'll probably have to contact Tivoli Support.
