Hello Jane,
you can backup an oracle database full or incremental
using Oracle's RMAN tool or a 3rd party product like BMC's
SQL Back-Track.
both have advantages and disadvantages (like all products).
it really depends on so many factors,
like
the time taken to backup 2 Tb database.
what else the TSM Server is doing at the same time.
the business impact of running an incremental during the week Vs batch
processing
the recovery time.
Our largest database is about 1.15 Tb
and we only do a cold backup once a week for this database
and it takes about 9 Hours
