You can use the following from another client:

dsmc> res -virtualnode='OLDNODE' /oldpath/oldfiles /newpath/

It will ask for the password for OLDNODE, then restore the files.

Betreff: How to restore data from a client that no longer exists...

What is the best way to retrieve data from a client that no longer
exists.
Is there a simple way to redirect data from tape to any other client?
Client
was HP-UX 11.00, Sever version and client version 4.1.

Regards

Dominic
