Have you set up a TSM "scheduler service" on the NT client and is it running? This
has to happen for server to contact client to start schedule.

hello all,
I have several NT servers (with different TSM client versions 3.1 and 3.7)
for which the backup server is not able to prompt them to start the backup.
What happens is that the client can push a filesystem backup to the server
so the network is OK and the client is known to the TSM server but when I
schedule a backup I get the following message:
"not able to contact client".
Here is a standard DSM.OPT we use(I left out the INCLUDE EXCLUDE
statements):
LANG AMENG
commmethod tcpip
tcpport 1500
TCPServeraddress hostaddress
passwordaccess generate
COMPRESSION ON
TCPBUFFSIZE 32
TCPWINDOWSIZE 63
TCPCLIENTADDRESS xxx.xx.xxx.xx
SERVERNAME ADSM
SCHEDMODE PROMPTED
SCHEDLOGRETENTION 8 S
Has anyone got an idea on how to handle this problem?
