Can anybody help me with a question about the TDP for SQL Server v2.2 client. Is it possible to view the meta data about a SQL backup object that is stored in TSM from the TDP for MS SQL GUI? I can find the information using the /FILEINFO switch on the TDPSQLC QUERY TSM FULL command line. The thing that makes me believe that there must be an analagous method in the GUI is that there exists a check box 'Wait for Tape Mounts for File Information' in the 'Restore Databases' window. Without being able to view the meta data, surely this option would be redundant? As part of our documented database recovery procedures, the first step is to determine the SQL logical and physical file details of the source database. It would be preferable for those with less TDP/TSM experience if this information was available from the GUI.
