Hi all. I'm a little confused with ADSM cause I'm used of traditional tape backup software... We've adopted Tivoli Storage Mng because of his ability to get across firewall. So I've setup the server and clients can save on a backuppool on the main server disk. I've got plenty of disk space but a one drive only library tape with 9 slot. I would like to know the basics directions to set my pools so I can manage myself the migrations on the tapes. It should be far away the philosophy of ADSM, but we got to extract tape for vaulting. for example monday DISK >>> TAPE1 tuesday DISK >>> TAPE2 wednesday DISK >>> TAPE3 ... first sunday DISK >>> TAPE7 second sunday DISK >>> TAPE8 third sunday DISK >>> TAPE9 and so on, so I only got to manually change my tapes, and in the same time I've got all my backup available on my main disk thanks for your help.
