My environment is as follows:
TSM 4.2.0.0 on Windows NT SP6A
StorageTek L180 library - (Level 2.00.0)
FASTLOAD is ON
9840FC drives - (Level 1.25.116)
Brocade Silkworm 2800 switch - (level 2.30)
Emulex LP8000 cards - (Level 3.2)
Certain fuctions with the tape library
function correctly, such as audit library with
checklabel equal YES or "label libv". However,
whenever we try to write to tape with a backup
command, the backup works correctly, but the tape
refuses to dismount. a "BACKUP DB" command also
refuses to dismount the tape. Mount retention is
set to 2 minutes, and a "q mo" command correctly
shows the tape as DISMOUNTING. The tape dismount
never happens - it just sits at "READY". We are
not using ACSLS in this configuration. To get out
of this, we forcefully remove the tape and end up
rebooting the L180 and the NT TSM server.
Any ideas??????????? I also have a PMR open
with support on this one.
