Probably worth checking out:

1) Confirm the node name that is being used to back up this machine (or
application if they are backing up DB2 or other database types).

2) Do a QUERY NODE for this node name to confirm that it is in the AIX
policy domain.

3) Make sure that the node is binding its files to the RS6000 management
class. If using an include/exclude list, make sure that some include below
the one for the RS6000 files isn't "catching" the files in question, and
binding them to a different management class. For example:

   include /home/andy/.../* rs6000
   include /home/.../* standard

Would cause the files in /home/andy to be bound to the standard management
class.

4) Check the dsmerror.log (or dsierror.log if using an API application to
back up the files) for any tell-tale errors.

Andy

The only dumb question is the one that goes unasked.
The command line is your friend.
