Under the Unix environment there is the "date" command
zdec23@tsmutl01/home/zdec23/bin > date +%a
Tue
zdec23@tsmutl01/home/zdec23/bin > date +%A
Tuesday
zdec23@tsmutl01/home/zdec23/bin >
I use that a lot in scripts...

Is it possible to get the current day of the week (Alpha) by using a select
