Here are my notes from a ticket I called in to Tivoli with the same exact
problem:
Had some backupsets that had been deleted but were not deleted out of
volhist. Used the following command to delete them:
DELete VOLHistory TODate={mm/dd/yyyy} TOTime={hh:mm[:ss]} Type=BACKUPSET
VOLume={volName} FORCE={No|Yes}
The volume name is case sensitive, and you only need to delete the 1st one
of a set for all of them to disappear.
My command that I used was delete volhistory todate=xx/xx/xxxx
type=backupset vol=xxxxxx force=yes and it seemed to work.

Subject: Delete Backupsets with TSM 3.7.2
Hi TSM-ers,
inspired by the discussion regarding the deletion of backupsets
I checked my recently deleted volumes and they are still in the
volhistory.
Unfortunately there is no DELETE VOLHISTORY TYPE=BACKUPSET
in 3.7.2.
How can I get rid of this volumes?
Kind regards
Thomas Rupp
