If you run a database backup, does the log go down? If it does not, you probably have a long transaction in the database. A certain client is "pinning" the log.

From what you are saying it appears so. I would recommend turning it off and using a logmode=normal which will commit recovery log transactions to the DB as they complete instead of every time the DB fills up. -- Joshua S. It filled up again last night. My database is 59.5 GB. Could I have a problem that is causing my recovery log to fill up or is this normal for this size of database? I am running TSM 3.7.4 on OS390 R 2.10. I have been testing TSM 4.1.4 and am planning to go to the new release in the next few weeks, could this help the situation?
