A fibre drive looks just like a SCSI drive to TSM. We implemented 3590s on TSM 4.1 on Windows 2000 without any problem on the same adapters as Shark (in a McData fabric), but this configuration is not officially supported, only because it has not completed the testing.
There are some caveats. You must have the right stuff implemented in your adapters and this is very specific to the hardware you are using (HBAs and tape drives). You need to get the recommended configuration from the tape vendor. The real question is are you going to do SAN Agents and Tape/Library Sharing? -----Original Message----- From: Selva, Perpetua [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Thursday, October 18, 2001 2:32 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: Installation of Fibre Tape Drive Is there anything I should watch out for? What kind of prep work should I've done? Any certain steps/ procedures I should follow? Please let me know Thanks
