I think there is a problem with the IBM's. We also are using a 3584 and are using the autoclean mode of the library. We saw that the cleaning count of the drives is not the same as the total cleanings. So cleaning accurs and rather frequently, but you will not see it displayed correctly. IBM has, if I remember it correctly, a fix for this bug.
