I think there is a problem with the IBM's. We also are using a 3584 and are
using the autoclean mode of the library. We saw that the cleaning count of
the drives is not the same as the total cleanings. So cleaning accurs and
rather frequently, but you will not see it displayed correctly. IBM has, if
I remember it correctly, a fix for this bug.

We are also using an LTO 3583 library now for 4 months.
In these 4 months no cleaning has been done.
I guess it doesn't need much cleaning (good technology isn't it ?)

We have an IBM 3583 LTO Library defined to TSM with cleaning frequency as
"ASNEEDED".

We have been running it in production for 2 months and have not noticed any
cleanings yet.

We have the cleaning messages automated so that when a drive is cleaned we
get notified.  Also by looking at the "Cleanings Left" on the cleaning
cartridge via a q libv we know that no cleanings have been done.

Just curious how often people have seen these drives needing cleaning.
