Re Wanda's message: Read the doc in the TSM server admin guide on GENERATE BACKUPSET. You can back up machine ONE to the TSM server, then use GENERATE BACKUPSET to put the "active" data on a portable tape or CD. Then you can take that tape or CD and restore it on machine TWO, without any connection to the network. See the client documentation on RESTORE BACKUPSET.
The RESTORE BACKUPSET requires the TSM client software The original poster stated this was not the case, therefore BACKUPSETS will not help. If they really cannot install the TSM client, then TSM cannot be used. Alternative: Use OS commands to copy the files to ZIP drive, diskette, CD etc and sneakernet the files to remote system. TSM does not support restoring data using OS commands. (OP also did not state if the source and destination system are using same OS or compatible filesystems. This also is relevant in determining a solution).
