I used the documentation - Tivoli Storage Manager for Sun Solaris Managed
System for SAN Storage Agent User's Guide Version 4 Release 2 GC36-0002-01
to assist with my implementation. This documentation states that you need
SanEnergy for sharing Disk Storage by using a File library. I'm not not
using disk storage so I don't know if this is true and there are other
errors in this documentation but in general it was a great help with
implementing my configuration.

Hi
Doesn't that depend of the setting of "Mount limit" that you set on you
shared FILE deviceclass?
There shouldn't be a problem having multiple clients mount multiple mount
points, as long as you have the mount limit to a number higher than
the number of clients.
I am well aware of that in 3.7.X and 4.1.X, you needed SANergy to use a
diskpool. But this should have been solved in 4.2, where Tivoli integrated
parts of SANergy into TSM.
This is how I have been explained to by Tivoli's support.

"ADSM: Dist

But then you need Sanergy I believe + you can only backup with one client
at
a time to the shared file space .
So client 1 mounts the San-diskspace, makes it backup, unmounts
Client 2 mounts the san-diskspace (fused), makes it backup, unmount and so
on...
Tell me if I'm wrong.
Regards,
Wouter.

Hi Linda
To backup your data to a SAN-attached disk device is possible.
All you have to do is to create a shared FILE-device, and then instead of
backing up to tape, backup to the FILE device.
According to Tivoli, this is a supported configuration, and the information
can be found on the Tivoli website.
