Reclamation frees up space on offsite tapes by rewriting the files left on
expired offsite tapes (referenced in the TSM database) to a read/write
volume onsite!

The benefit is the same as for primary pool reclamation - more effective
tape usage.
And if you look at the description copy pool reclamation works copying data
from primary pool which ought to be on-site.

What is the benefit of using reclamation on the offsite copy tape pool?
How is this possible if the tapes are offsite?
Expiration makes sense, but reclamation?
