Hello Stuart, I do not know theoretical limit of line count, but the length and complexity of icl/exl list may effect the speed of backup. depending on your file & directory &incl/exlc structure. You maybe will have a client CPU dependent penalty if you have large amount of infrequently changing small files.
For me I noticed significant impacts on older PII clients with inc/exl counts above 100 (TSM 3.1) but I notice no difference with todays clients (TSM 3.7). regards Juraj Salak -----Original Message----- From: Stuart McIntyre [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Wednesday, December 05, 2001 6:23 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Maximum number of lines in incl/excl file? Hi there, Does anyone know the theoretical maximum number of entries that can be added to the include/exclude file? Also, should the client startup speed be affected by the size of the include/exclude file? Many thanks. Stuart
