Yes, I've been to adsm.org and have tried clean archdir, also I've been on the horn
with TSM support to no avail. I did not get any errors while archiving it just took
forever.

check out on www.adsm.org and look for messages along the lines of subject:
"Clean archdir commands and context"
you are probably running into that...
and if you are seeing any
ANR0104E imarupd.c(548): Error 2 deleting row from table
"Expiring.Objects".
there is a new TSM Serv for aix TSM 4.1.5 that fixes that... (so it says,
I'm working on putting it on currently)

Joy,
Not an AIX person, but this sort of behaviour is commonly seen on Novell
clients
when there
are very large numbers of files in a directory.
Could that be the case here.
Do you have performance issues opening files with other programs in /usr/

Subject: Archive problems
Does anyone have any information as to why /usr/ on an AIX 4.3.3- 4.1.4 TSM=
server, using TSM 4.1.3 client would take 52 hours to archive? It was al=
most like it was hung but then a few kbs would change every 30 min or so. =
All the other system files /var, /etc/, /home took a few minutes.
