If a restore is using a tape and another restore is waiting on the same volume, how long will the waiting restore process wait? I'm thinking mountwait time here. But what sort of errors will one get at the end of that time? Will the restore simply die, or will it error on the files that are on the tape and move on? Or will it just keep waiting until it can get the volume?
I've a customer doing a restore that is having this problem. At one point we got a large number of ANR0548W restore failed for file mumblefratz stored as backup - data integrity error followed by ANE4035W error processing file mumblefratz : file currently unavailable on the server. then the dreaded anr9999D sstrans.c blah, blah, blah When we went back to restore the files again later, voila, we got them just fine. Perhaps a definitive "this is what happens" could be supplied here. I know, I know, collocate at the filespace level and this won't happen, maybe. Thanks gang. Kelly J.
