I just got through a 2 week period of testing and tuning for performance. Here is what I ended up with. The Network is also going to limit your performance. Try sending files via FTP to test your network. You will also need to tune the server side; BUfPoolsize, SELFTUNETXNsize & SELFTUNEBUFpoolsize - go to ADSM.org and read warnings on Self tune parameters. Also check to make sure your are not migrating during your backups. We found that migration was starting during backups and killing performance.
