Sorry, got things mixed up.

Yes, you have to do a full backup of the Exchange database before doing a incremental backup.

Also, doing incrementals forever wont work with Exchange. Sooner or later, the incremental backups willl be as big as a full backup. Therefore, doing full backups every month, or perhaps 6 months depending on how much the Exchange server grows, would be a good idea.

Sorry for mixing things up.

Best Regards

Hi Daniel!
Bare in mind that my question is about the TDP client, not the TSM client!
They do not work similarly!

Hi

The first time you run a backup, it's always a full backup. This also
applies to running the first incremental backup, it's the same as running a
full backup.

Hi *SM-ers!
I can't find an answer in the manual for a question from one of my users:
What happens when I start an incremental backup for a new TDP for Exchange
server? So, what happens when I start an incremental when no full backup
exists?
Thanks in advance for the answer!
Kindest regards,
