I am starting to play with the "stripe" function of the TDP for SQL. I got to wondering... If you have a database backed up directly to tape using 4 stripes... you need 4 tape drives to do that.. and, 4 tape drives to do a restore. I got that much...
But.. What happens if, by reclamation process, two or more of the "striped" portions of the backup get reclaimed onto the same tape? Will TSM allow that to happen? if so, how do you do a restore? Any other gotchya's out there?
