The "Reclaim Storage Pool:" is an OPTIONAL parameter and if not specified
the reclaimed data is written back to volumes in the same storage pool. This
parameter is described:

RECLAIMSTGpool
Specifies another primary storage pool as a target for reclaimed data
from this storage pool. This parameter is optional. When the server
reclaims volumes for the storage pool, the server moves unexpired data
from the volumes being reclaimed to the storage pool named with this
     parameter.

A reclaim storage pool is most useful for a storage pool that has only
one drive in its library. When you specify this parameter, the server
moves all data from reclaimed volumes to the reclaim storage pool
regardless of the number of drives in the library.

To move data from the reclaim storage pool back to the original
storage pool, use the storage pool hierarchy. Specify the original
storage pool as the next storage pool for the reclaim storage pool.
     Note:
For storage pools with DATAFORMAT=NETAPPDUMP this parameter is
          unavailable.

So, unless he's trying to maybe move to a different storage pool, or only
has a single tape drive system, he doesn't need RECLAIMSTGpool.

I would suggest he open a -CONSOLE admin window, issue the UPD...RECLAIM=
command to initiate reclammation and see what, if any , messages come out.

Assuming this is the pool you're trying to reclaim, at first glance I notice
it doesn't even have a reclamation pool defined. Of course it can't reclaim
any tapes without a reclamation pool. Note the "Reclaim Storage Pool:"
section which is blank. Changing the reclamation threshold will do nothing
without a reclamation pool.

Have you created a reclamation storage pool? Do you understand the
reclamation process? I highly recommend you read the admin guide section on
reclamation if you don't.

You'll need to provide more information then that.. be a lot more specific.
Specifically why can't you perform reclamation? Did you configure a
reclamation pool? Is it a problem in the configuration of the reclamation
pool? I recommend posting some details/output about the storage pool you're
trying to reclaim (q stg f=d) and the reclamation pool you have setup to do
the reclamation. Also post output on any errors you're getting as to why you
can't do it. The more info you provide the more likely someone can help you.

Hi all,

l have a storage pool can't peform the reclamation. It just only can use the
"move data" command to manually reclaim the tape. How can l solve this
problem?
