Server version is 4.2.1.15 not 4.1.2.15. The 4GB log was at 59.5% usage when the server went down - it took well over 300 minutes to replay the logs when the server came back up.
Second level support took a look at the core dump, and they tell me the import wasn't the cause of the abend - level 2 support says it appeared to be a problem with an admin client initiating a -consolemode session at the same time I did the import.
