Hi all, I'm new to the list, this is my first post. I've just installed a TSM server on an IBM xSeries machine. The machine is equipped with an HP DLT VS80 internal tape drive, but TSM will not write to tape. The error message I'm getting is (using TSM device driver):
ANR8302E I/O error on drive DLT_VS80 (mt1.0.0.2) (OP=WRITE, Error Number=87, CC=207, KEY=05, ASC=24, ASCQ=00, SENSE=F0.00.05.00.00.00.01.16.00.00.00.00.24.00.00.CF.00.02.82.00.00.00. 00.00.- 15.00.9A.BB.A4., Description=Device is not in a state capable of performing request). Refer to Appendix D in the 'Messages' manual for recommended action. I tried to use the operating system device driver (with GENERICTAPE device), the result was: ANR8328I 002: GENERICTAPE volume SAL01 mounted in drive DLT_VS80 (mt1.0.0.2). ANR8311E An I/O error occurred while accessing drive DLT_VS80 (mt1.0.0.2) for WRITE operation, errno = 1. The hardware setup is probably correct since the TapeWare application that came with the drive is capable of performing backup on this machine. Anybody has an idea what I can do with it? Thanks in advance, Imre Kloknicer
