I cannot help you with Mac OS X but still remember a post made a month and something ago with the following URL pointed: http://wssg.berkeley.edu/public/tsm_osx_issues.html I have no idea was there any change in the opinion of UC Berkeley staff on Mac OS X problems. Neither I know who now is in charge for TSM at Berkeley since Joe Faracchio's retirement.

In the Mac OS X version of TSM, it appears that the applications ask for root when started up. But can a backup be configured to kick in at scheduled times, if you reboot the box and don't log in or log in as a non-admin user? Or is it required that you manually must start up the daemon and enter the root password for scheduled backups to become active? Mikael Hansen UC Berkeley
