You can store the password in an encrypted file (similar to the password file used for
encrypted Rconsole). The procedure is documented in the client manual. I just set up
my first Novell client (actually my first TSM client) and it worked great. I believe
that the Opt option is PWDFILE = yes.

Subject: user rights to back up nbs

for the tsm client for novell i have 2 novell servers which back up the
nds information as part of their incremental backups

the entry in dsm.opt for this is

NWUSER tree\.CN=admin.O=org:password
DOMAIN NDS

i have always been using the admin id and thus the password is
coded in plain text in the dsm.opt file

does anybody utilize a better way so that the password does
not have to be hard coded in dsm.opt
