You have set it up correctly. TDPO doesn't actually use TSM versioning to delete old backups. That is done with RMAN scripts on the client where Oracle resides. Look at your RMAN documentation. There should be a sample script installed also. Basically you set up the script to delete data older than x number of days. Deletes this data from RMAN catalog and TSM server.
