It wasn't a problem before (unicode client support); I've done exactly that with WinNT, Win2K and Unix clients in prior versions. (In the old days the vol-label on WinNT needed to be the same.)
As long as you didn't change the TSM client-level from non-unicode to unicode, you should get what you wanted -- resumption of previous incremental... report to IBM if you got a "full" by only making the change you described.
